Lamont Cook, Co-Treasurer

My name is Lamont Cook and I became Co-Treasurer of Stoneybrook Community Council Association in 2022.  I have lived in this community for 20+ years (specifically Randallstown).  Aside from attending local schools within the community (Church Lane Elementary School, Old Court Middle School -now known as Northwest Academy of Health Sciences-, and Randallstown High School), I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  My background includes business process improvement, operations, and project management.  In my spare time, I like to travel, watch/play sports, and taste the many foods that Maryland has to offer.  As Treasurer, I look forward to engaging with the community and attending special events to help promote Stoneybrook Community Council Association.

A native of Baltimore City, Maryland, I moved to the Baltimore County Woodmoor community in 1976. My husband and I outgrew our home there and moved in 1988 to the outskirts of the Stoneybrook Community neighborhood and have lived here since then. My formal education feels so far behind me now, but I am a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a dual major of Sociology and Social Work, and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice with a master’s degree in Social Work. I am retired now (2010) having worked as a professional licensed social worker in the Baltimore City Head Start Program, a director of a Head Start program and an administrator at Casey Family Services.

As mentioned, I am a wife, but also a mother to one son, a grandmother, a sister, a niece, a cousin, and an aunt. I am a member of the New All Saints Roman Catholic Church. I invest
much of my time as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., playing tennis, enjoying the Ravens, traveling and some cooking.

I take interest in the community in which I live, willing to volunteer to support safety, equity, and residents’ projects.
